Greek citizens are worried about the plan to build senior apartments
Rochester, New York – To review a recent request from Penn Central Senior Apartments, the Town of Greece’s planning board met on Wednesday evening.
The team’s plan for the senior living complex, which has 332 flats spread across two buildings with four stories each, was unveiled on Wednesday. In addition, there would be facilities including utilities, parking, and landscaping. The site at 354 Island Cottage Road is being considered for development by officials. However, residents are worried about this.
Residents expressed concern that it would be difficult for emergency services, such as fire and EMS, to arrive promptly. Residents also pointed out that a fire engine would require access to the building’s ladder. The issue is that locals claim there isn’t a fire district in the area.
People have raised concerns about its effects on the environment.
Additionally, the development would be close to a shooting range, which several locals expressed would be problematic for the elderly and perhaps soldiers who might be experiencing PTSD.
