Greece, Rochester, N.Y – Greece Athena grad Anthony Lamb has been working hard the past several months to improve his NBA stock.

The former University of Vermont standout showcased his skills for teams through virtual workouts and he’s hoping to hear his name called Wednesday night during the NBA Draft.

“I’ve learned a lot about the process and what goes into the draft and sort of what goes into even playing in the NBA right away, so I understand that it’s tough league and really being able to get in is the first step,” said Lamb.

A two-time America East Conference Player of the Year for the Catamounts, Lamb’s skill set not the only thing that impresses coaches.

“His talent speaks for itself, but just from a work ethic standpoint, to his commitment, to his buy into our program. He grew as much as any player we’ve ever had,” said Vermont Head Coach John Becker.

“Anthony’s extremely driven, as far as internal motivation, he was definitely one of my top three or four players of all time, my 30 years as a head coach,” said former Greece Athena basketball coach Jim Johnson.

Lamb’s confident teams will be attracted to his versatility on the court.

“Just being able to guard multiple positions. Knock down a lot of shots and just being able to take advantages of being able to be stronger than some people and quicker than others,” explained Lamb.

He’s planning to watch the draft with his family and he’s prepared for whatever comes next.

“I understand that it’s going to be me working for the things I need to earn and I’m very blessed to be in the positions I am. It’s been a long journey and there’s been a lot of things along the way, but I know that each step comes with its own challenges and things to learn from.”
