City of Rochester staffs working to keep roads passable

Rochester, New York – On Monday, the City of Rochester is working to try and keep roads passable.

Obeying alternate parking laws so that crews can plow arterial roads, city of Rochester Operations Director Karen St. Aubin stressed the importance of drivers.

According to St. Aubin, the City has 12 additional operators and 30 extra refuse trucks with plows attached on the road. Refuse collection is delayed for one day as a result.

She also asked drivers not to drive unless it’s necessary. Monroe County is under a no unnecessary travel advisory.

St. Aubin reminded drivers who do need to be out to give plows plenty of room.

Property owners are responsible for clearing the sidewalk by their property, and anyone with property near a fire hydrant is asked to clear snow from the hydrant.
