CGI Rochester International Jazz Festival is coming back after 2019
Rochester, New York – The CGI Rochester International Jazz Festival kicked off on Friday for the first time since 2019 and features new attractions.
Over the next nine days, parcel 5 is one of the new additions – a stage area was created to host some of the 325 shows (130 of them are completely free) planned.
This year marks the 19th version of the jazz fest, where thousands of newcomers and regulars will come and enjoy the sweet sound of the blues – and much more.
Since 2013, Dennis and Linda Bender have been going to the festival and said they can’t wait to see old friends listen to live music and see the city alive again.
“Just a city full of music – everywhere,” Dennis Bender said. “Certainly the shows, but you got the buskers on the street, bars got music – it’s just a city full of music for nine days.”
The Friday night headliner will be trumpeter Chris Botti. The 9 p.m. show at Parcel 5 will be completely free of charge.
