Cayuga County COVID-19 surge similar to the one in January
The Cayuga County, New York – According to the Cayuga County Health Department released data, on Wednesday there were 72 new cases of COVID-19.
The last time they were this high was Jan. 21 at 82 cases.
There are currently 320 active cases, the highest in 8 months.
44 of the 72 new cases reported Wednesday are unvaccinated people.
The total for unvaccinated people catching the virus since Aug. 23 is 595 out of 884.
22 residents are hospitalized and 12 of them are unvaccinated.
The following data relates to the hospitalized patients:
• 3 residents in their 30’s
• 2 residents in their 40’s
• 6 residents in their 50’s
• 1 resident in their 60’s
• 4 residents in their 70’s
• 2 residents in their 80’s
• 4 residents in their 90’s
