Canandaigua man suffers extensive burns after fire in his home
Ontario County, New York — A 61-year-old man was burned at his home in Canandaigua.
According to Ontario County Sheriff’s deputies, Robert Burtis was found behind his garage with severe burns. He was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital by a helicopter in serious condition.
This happened at his home in the 4700 block of North Road between Andrews and Sand Hill roads just after 4 p.m. Wednesday.
At this point, there is no information on how the man came to be on fire. Bystanders put out the flames.
Police tape was up on some of the property.
