Bath will host a mental health event

Bath, New York – At a forthcoming event in Bath, those who have loved ones experiencing mental health issues can find out how they can help them.
A community mental health discussion is being held at Ira Davenport Memorial Hospital. Attendees will leave this program with all the knowledge they need to support friends and family who might be experiencing holiday or seasonal sadness.
The forum will take place in the Ruth Cole Conference Room on the ground floor of the hospital on Wednesday, December 4, from 4 to 7 p.m. There is no registration required, and admission is free. Attendees will receive refreshments and door prizes.
“The date was selected to align with the holiday season and the start of winter,” explained Elizabeth Weir, vice president of nursing at Ira Davenport and the event organizer. “We particularly hope to educate people on how to spot the early warning signs of behavioral health disorders and substance abuse.”
Local agencies will have table presentations at this event, and representatives from each agency will be on hand to answer questions and have one-on-one discussions. The Bath Central School District, the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office, the Steuben County Community Health, Arnot Health Spiritual Care, and Arnot Health Behavioral Health and Addiction Recovery Programs are among the agencies attending this discussion.
