As part of the AG Office’s gun buyback program in Rochester, hundreds of firearms were turned in
Rochester, New York – People turned in a total of 548 guns at Saturday’s gun buyback program in Rochester hosted by the New York State Attorney General’s Office.
Community members turned in working and non-working guns in exchange for pre-paid gift cards at the Church of Love Faith Center on Exchange Street.
The AG’s Office says the goal was to protect communities from gun violence. Here’s how much people got for each type of gun:
• $500 per semi-automatic rifle
• $250 per handgun
• $75 per rifle or shotgun
• $25 per non-working, replica, antique, homemade, or 3D printed gun (Note: Anyone bringing homemade or 3D printed guns will be paid a total of $25, regardless of how many are turned in)
