Arnot NICU receives a $20,000 donation
Elmira, New York – With a sizable donation, a local business is assisting an Elmira hospital in continuing to offer specialized treatment for babies.
The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Arnot Ogden Medical Center received a $20,000 donation from The Williams Companies. Premature and very unwell neonates receive extensive treatment at Arnot’s NICU. New equipment for the unit will be purchased with the donation.
“We are honored to support such an important cause,” stated Dalton Williams, vice president of Williams Auto Group, “because the NICU at Arnot Health provides essential services to the local community.”
Patients from Chemung and several surrounding counties are served by Arnot Ogden Medical Center, which offers the only Level III NICU in the area.
Level III centers are the second highest of four perinatal center certification levels in New York State.
Patients who require more complex care are treated in NICUs like the one at Arnot.
