After months of work, Corning’s Pizza Hut finally opens

Corning, New York – People in Corning can finally calm down now that the long-awaited Pizza Hut has reopened in the city.

After closing in the summer of 2020, Pizza Hut in Crystal City is now open again after being fixed up for almost a year.

The Corning Pizza Hut is different from the Elmira version in that it is a full-service restaurant with a completely new interior. The famous Pizza Hut signs were put up in July, after months of work inside the building.

There were a lot of cars in the parking lot of the restaurant at 55 E. Pultney St. on Wednesday afternoon, September 25. There was a small “Now Open” sign next to the road.

Early plans called for the restaurant to open by the end of August, but it didn’t happen until late September.

During its renovation, the restaurant had a number of delays. It was originally supposed to open in early 2024, but problems with making sure the building’s architectural plans met the city’s code requirements pushed back the opening date to late summer or early fall.

The Corning Pizza Hut is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Friday, and from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday and Sunday.
