A large turnout in Monroe County marks the end of early voting

Perinton, New York – In Monroe County, the turnout for early voting has been impressive. Over 133,000 voters—roughly 27% of all registered voters—have cast ballots.

With the Buffalo Bills providing them with a respite, the Perinton Square Mall claimed to be the busiest local voting location. Sort of.

The Monroe County Board of Elections site manager, Paul Wagner, expressed his happiness that so many people were casting ballots. “This place has been wild. Here alone, we’ve had more than 13,000,” he said.

Wagner, however, was aware that Sunday afternoon would see a dip in attendance. We’ll most likely have a slow period. At one, the Bills will start. It will slow down as a result,” he stated.

Michael Magil of Fairport was able to capitalize on the calm—which was brought on by the Bills game. It’s quite fluid. I didn’t have to wait in line, the staff here is excellent, and who knows what Tuesday would bring?” he asked.

Sunday is the ideal day for Honeoye Falls resident Antra Ziedins Gilbank to cast her ballot. She would prefer to avoid Tuesday. “I believe it’s fantastic. It has to do with convenience. In terms of your schedule, it’s meeting you where you are,” she stated.

Remember that Wagner’s hard-working, bipartisan poll workers are the reason this initiative is feasible. “My team is doing an incredible job, and I’m really proud of them.”

Tuesday is election day, which is the next day to cast your ballot. From 6 a.m. until 9 p.m., polls will be open.
