A collaboration of local healthcare professionals expands access to pharmacies in Rochester
Rochester, New York – In an effort to increase pharmaceutical availability in Monroe County, four Rochester healthcare institutions are collaborating to address the significant number of pharmacy closures in the region.
The Rochester Pharmacy Access Coalition was established by the University of Rochester Medical Center, Rochester Regional Health, Trillium Health, and Jordan Health.
In the Rochester area, the partnership is establishing pharmacies and growing pharmaceutical services, including walk-in locations across the city and doorstep delivery services to any Monroe County residence.
This comes after more than five Walgreens stores in the Rochester region shuttered for financial reasons, reducing access to pharmacies for those in need of prescription drugs.
On Tuesday, Rochester Healthcare Systems representatives and Mayor Malik Evans met to talk about the city’s pharmacy services.
