A 48-year-old man from Buffalo killed in a motorcycle crash in Sodus
Wayne County, New York – On Sunday a 48-year-old man died after he was ejected from his motorcycle.
The incident happened just before 5 p.m. State Route 104 in Sodus.
According to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, Michael J. Altenburg of Cheektowaga was westbound when he lost control of his motorcycle while braking for traffic near Pratt Road.
Altenburg was ejected, his body colliding with the rear end of another motorcycle, deputies say.
Christine A. Maki, 48, of Cheektowaga was an Altenburg passenger and was also ejected. She was airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital.
Altenburg was pronounced dead at the scene.
