McQuaid rowing team participates in fundraiser event
Monroe County, New York – Several members of the McQuaid rowing team are participating in the 10th anniversary of the Row for Hope on Saturday.
Starting in Buffalo and ending in Albany, eight young men plan to row over 300 miles along the Erie Canal over eight days.
As the crew stops at different towns each day, the journey will cover the entire length of the Erie Canal.
Meals along the way will be provided by restaurants, crew teams sharing the canal, and parents involved in the event.
All the proceeds from the event will go to Saint Joseph’s House of Hospitality, a Rochester Catholic Worker community that provides food, clothing, shelter, and spiritually-centered care to its guests.
The fundraiser started Saturday, June 18, and end in Albany on June 25.
On Sunday, June 19, the team will be passing the Main Street Lift Bridge in Fairport.
