658 new COVID-19 cases in Monroe County
Rochester, New York — According to officials from the Monroe County Department of Public Health, 658 new COVID-19 cases are reported on Thursday. It was the most new cases in a single day for Monroe County since January 15, 2021 (676).
County officials report COVID-19 deaths weekly on Mondays. To date, 1,492 Monroe County residents have died from COVID-19.
The county is now averaging 435 new cases per day over the past week. Monroe County now has a seven-day rolling average positivity rate of 9.4%. It’s the highest average positivity rate for Monroe County since January 9, 2021 (9.5%).
According to the New York State Department of Health, 464 people in the Finger Lakes region are hospitalized with the virus, including 113 in an ICU. It’s the most regional COVID hospitalizations since February 5, 2021 (483).
As of the Monroe County COVID-19 dashboard’s last local vaccination update, 485,419 county residents are fully vaccinated and 531,769 have received at least one dose of the vaccine — 82.2% of the county population.
