Kathy Hochul becomes New York’s first female governor

Albany, New York – Kathy Hochul is new Governor of New York State.
Hochul was sworn in as the 57th governor at 12;01 on Tuesday, becoming the first woman in the history of the state to hold the office.
She is the first person from Western New York to hold the office since Grover Cleveland more than 120 years ago.
Kathy Hochul takes over after Andrew Cuomo resigned amid a sexual harassment scandal.
Hochul says she plans to run for a full four-year term in 2022.
