Amerks season officially over as AHL cancels
The news was expected, but it still has to sting for Rochester Americans fans.
The Amerks were positioned to be in the Calder Cup playoffs and have a very good shot to end the 16-year-long drought of not winning a playoff series.
When the season was stopped, Chris Taylor’s team was in second place in the North Division, just 6 points back of Belleville.
Rochester was in 4th place in the conference and was in position to begin the playoffs with home ice advantage.
