Man shot in overnight homicide on Chili Avenue identified
Rochester, New York – Around 3 a.m. on Saturday, the Rochester Police Department is looking into a homicide that happened on Chili Avenue.
According to police, the 43-year-old victim, Bryan Harrell Sr., had an upper body gunshot wound.
According to the police, Harrell Sr. was outside of 565 Chili Avenue, barbecuing on the sidewalk alongside other people. Harrell Sr. was shot and killed after many bullets were exchanged.
The department’s Major Crimes Unit is conducting an investigation and is requesting that anyone with information contact them at 585-428-7157 or 911.
According to police, Chili Avenue will stay closed between Thurston Road and Depew Street during the investigation, and some nearby side streets in that area have restricted access.
