The Rochester Police Department promotes positive police-community relationship during National Night Out
Rochester, New York – On Tuesday, the Rochester Police Department and Neighborhood Service Centers worked with community groups for National Night Out.
It’s a yearly community-building campaign that aims to promote police-community partnerships and create safe and vibrant neighborhoods.
As each police section and service center hosted different neighborhood events, some activities included neighborhood meet-ups, parades, music, cookouts, and even horse rides.
“This is a great time for people in our community to come together, particularly here in the Stewart Clinton location which has been the scene of a lot of violence in recent months,” said Rochester Mayor Malik Evans. “So something I always tell people is to drive out darkness is to bring in light, and events like this bring in a lot of light.”
The Irondequoit Police Department will hold its event from 5:30-8 p.m. on Wednesday evening at Irondequoit Town Hall.
