Hundreds pay respects to slain Rochester officer
Rochester, New York – Comunity members are honoring Rochester Police Officer Tony Mazurkiewicz.
He was shot and killed on Bauman Street in northeast Rochester Thursday night while conducting a detail.
His partner was also shot and treated and released from the hospital.
A father and son from Henrietta showed up at the Public Safety Building to deliver flowers to members of the Rochester Police Department on Friday morning,
“I think it’s really important showing our younger kids how important is to stand with our police so he came with me and brought them here so we could show them we’re very sorry for their loss and everything that just happened,” Peter Caikauskas said.
Mazurkiewicz was a 29-year veteran of the force, a husband, and a father.
