$5 million in funding going to four Finger Lakes airports

Rochester, New York – Four Finger Lakes airports are getting nearly $5 million from the federal government.
According to Senate Majority leader Chuck Schumer and Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, the money will go toward making airports in and around Rochester better.
$4.3 million will go to the Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport to renovate the plane taxiway and improve the access road.
Here’s what other local airports will use the funding for:
• Finger Lakes Regional Airport in Seneca County, $58,500 to get an emergency generator
• Canandaigua Airport, $177,210 to get an emergency generator
• Penn Yan Airport, $267,597 to get aircraft deicing equipment
According to the senators, this money was possible through Congress’ passage of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.
