Twenty-two bikes to be delivered for Black and Brown residents in Rochester

Rochester, New York — On Saturday, ROC Freedom Riders began delivering new bicycles for youngsters and teens.

According to organizers, the group collected $3,000 to fund the project, entitled “Bikes for the Holidays.”

With the program and distribution continuing through MLK Day in February, twenty-two bikes will be delivered.

ROC Freedom Riders is a bicycle movement that promotes equity and access to opportunities for Black and Brown residents in Rochester.

In order to take advantage of the benefits of cycling, it is working to ensure kids and teens in these communities have access to bicycles.
