The disruption in Rochester city court under investigation
Monroe County, New York – According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office officials, an investigation about a physical altercation in Rochester City Court is ongoing.
According to the sheriff’s office, Friday morning an assistant public defender tried to get into a restricted area of the court, after being told several times by a judge not to enter.
The altercation between the defender and Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies started after the assistant public defender allegedly became disruptive and was asked to leave.
The defender was hurt in the wrist, and three deputies had minor injuries.
According to the Monroe County Public Defender’s office, they do not believe the use of force was necessary.
