Seneca Park Zoo announces birth of Canada lynx litter
Rochester, New York – The Seneca Park Zoo’s two Canada lynx are the new parents to a litter of kittens.
On June 2, Bianca gave birth to the kittens, marking the first successful Canada lynx litter born at the zoo.
“The kittens will not be on habitat for a few weeks as mom is keeping them out of sight in the den,” Zoo Director Steve Lacy said in a statement. “Each day they are getting stronger, but we continue to be cautious and Zoo staff is monitoring the kittens 24/7.”
The kitten’s father is Gretzky, born in 2012. Bianca was born in 2013.
The zoo is in the midst of a baby boom.
At the end of April, Olmsted the giraffe was born.
