Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer says Biden could tap into emergency reserves to drive down gas prices

New York – Addressing how it could be fixed by the Biden Administration, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer spoke about rising gas prices in the U.S. over the weekend.

According to Schumer, addressing the issue in the short term would involve tapping into emergency reserves to lower prices.

Across Upstate New York prices have risen well above $3 per gallon.

“When gas prices go up families pinch and pinch and pinch,” Schumer said. “Less money for groceries, less money for everyday expenses, less money for the high cost of prescription drugs, which we’re trying to do something about in our Build Back Better Bill.”

At this time it’s unclear if President Biden would tap into reserves to drive down prices.
