Neighbor rescues trapped deer on the frozen Saratoga Lake

Saratoga Lake, New York — The past 24 hours, a deer was trapped on the frozen surface along Saratoga Lake.

One of the neighbors along the lake sent photos of the deer and called the sheriff’s office, but they said it was just too dangerous to help.

Another neighbor took matters into his own hands.

According to Steven Sullivan, he lassoed the deer, and with help from the neighbor who had originally called the authorities and some other bystanders, managed to pull the deer to shore!

The deer was out probably 150 yards, and understands it was a dangerous decision to go out there, Sullivan said.
