Mother and infant died in two-alarm fire in Buffalo home
Buffalo, New York – The Kaisertown home where a mother and her infant daughter died in a fire early Monday morning had no working smoking detectors.
Around 1:30 a.m., the two-alarm fire started in a house on Weiss Street in Buffalo.
According to Fire Commissioner William Renaldo, the 31-year-old woman and the 7-month-old baby were found near a window in a second-floor bedroom.
According to fire crews, the cause of death appears to be smoke inhalation.
The victims’ names have not been released, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
