Monroe County records 1,573 new COVID-19 cases
Monroe County, New York – Monroe County saw its biggest number of new COVID cases Wednesday, Dec. 39.
The Monroe County Department of Health has confirmed 1,568 people have died of COVID-19, and 110,378 positive cases have been recorded.
Of the 110,378 positive cases, 1,573 were reported Wednesday.
“Due to the holiday, there was a significant delay in reporting of test results to MCDPH. This backlog will take several days to clear. Today’s reporting also includes cases that were backlogged due to a statewide reporting error that occurred on 12/24,” a statement from the county reads.
The 7-day rolling average of new cases is 758 new cases per day.
As of Wednesday, in the Finger Lakes region, 506 people are hospitalized (up to 17 since the previous day); 129 of these patients are in ICU (up to six since the previous day).
