Local volunteers getting ready to travel to Florida to provide help

Rochester, New York – American Red Cross volunteers in the area are getting ready to assist folks in Florida who have been impacted by Hurricane Ian.
Eight volunteers from Western New York are prepared to go to Florida when it is safe to assist.
“We are doing our best to provide the original or beginnings of recovery for those that have been affected by this storm, and we will be there as long as there is need for our services,” said volunteer Donna Davis. “This is not going to be a quick response in and done. This is going to be a long recovery process, and we may be looking at months or longer for these folks to recover from this.”
According to the Red Cross, making a donation is the greatest method to assist.
