“Heroes Ball” recognizes those who have a positive effect on cancer patients
Rochester, New York — The Rochester Cancer Support Community celebrated the individuals who are changing the cancer community with its annual Heroes Ball on Friday night.
This year’s gala, which focused on the efforts of five people who reflected the organization’s purpose to support those affected by cancer, had a “Friends” television program theme.
The CEO of the Rochester Cancer Support Community, James Love, underlined the significance of people realizing that everyone is impacted by cancer in some way.
“Cancer affects every single person that I personally know,” Love said. “And I think for many people in this room, it just affects people that they know. “
Love further stated that the money donated at the gala will stay in the community and would benefit the 1,000 people with whom they collaborate on a daily basis.
