Good Question: What’s going on with the T-Mobile Call Center in Henrietta?

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Earlier this year, there was a lot of talk about a new T-Mobile Call Center going up in Henrietta.
“When you look at the impact of 1,300+ jobs coming here, maybe 200+ construction jobs that’s huge for an economy right now that is staggering with this coronavirus,” said Rochester Chamber of Commerce President Bob Duffy back on April 2.
Six months later, there’s still no call center.
News10NBC went out to the site on Clay Road. Back in February, T-Mobile announced that after taking over Sprint, it planned to build a Customer Experience Center just north of 390.
Duffy says he hasn’t heard of any updates.
News10NBC reached out to T-Mobile and a spokesperson said she had nothing new to share right now but would keep us posted.
However, hours later the CEO of T-Mobile responded by saying “We’re so excited about expanding in Rochester and being a bigger part of Rochester’s community. No timeline yet, due to COVID – all current customer experience centers are still closed and we are serving customers from employee homes, but looking forward to being there”.
Hey @MikeSievert , any word on when the T-Mobile customer care center and the 1,300 jobs are coming to Rochester, NY?

We also spoke with Henrietta Town Supervisor Steve Schultz. He says he has not heard any developments with the project in quite some time.
T-Mobile has promised good wages and benefits as part of this new call center and even claimed it will make T-Mobile one of our region’s top 20 largest employers.
