CDC issues reminder about flu season
New York – The CDC is reminding people not to forget about flu season as the COVID-19 pandemic continues.
According to the agency, they are seeing increased flu activity among young adults and college students.
According to health officials, with the flu and COVID-19 both circulating, healthcare systems across the country could be stressed.
As fewer people get flu shots, an increase in flu virus cases this winter is expected.
Health officials warn doctors to be on the lookout for cases and encourage them to offer the vaccine to all those who are eligible. This comes after a mild flu season last year when many were staying home.
According to health officials, flu vaccines are available to anyone 6 months of age and older.
CVS and Walgreens stores are offering same-day appointments for flu shots.
