$200 stimulus payments for elderly Americans in the state of New York
Rochester, New York – Before the end of 2022, elderly Americans in the state of New York could see stimulus payments worth $200 if they meet certain criteria.
The plan is to help seniors that had a hard time paying their bills. The legislation was passed in Onondaga County. Seniors enrolled in the Enhanced STAR property tax exemption during the 2022 and 2023 school year will see the $200 payment.
In order to see the payment, you must be a homeowner and 65 years old or older, and your household income cannot exceed $92,000.
Around 27,500 households are expected to qualify that receive benefits.
You can download the form online and fill them out with an assessor. If you aren’t already enrolled, it is unclear if you can still get the $200 stimulus payment. Checks will be sent in December of this year.
