1,100 new COVID-19 cases reported in Monroe County

Monroe County, New York – Monroe County saw its biggest number of new COVID cases Tuesday, Dec. 29.
The Monroe County Department of Health has confirmed 1,568 people have died of COVID-19, and 110,378 positive cases have been recorded.
Of the 110,378 positive cases, 1,069 were reported Tuesday.
“Due to the holiday, there was a significant delay in reporting of test results to MCDPH. This backlog will take several days to clear. Today’s report includes test results from 12/26–12/28,” a statement from the county reads.
The 7-day rolling average of new cases is 641 new cases per day.
As of Tuesday, in the Finger Lakes region, 489 people are hospitalized (up 7 since previous day); 123 of these patients are in ICU (down 4 since previous day).
